Organized and Democratized New Data from Recently Acquired Stores

Heritage Grocers Group supports several operating banners, each of which are major large ethnic/Hispanic grocery chains operating within the United States. In the last year, the company underwent a strategic growth initiative, resulting in the rebranding and/or folding of certain banners into their structure, which included data migration and integration.

The company grew substantially in just one year. With this level of growth, the organization was preoccupied with ensuring that their data-driven culture was sustainable. To this end, they were primarily focused on creating a platform that would democratize their data, migrate to new environments and provide consistency within the data sets.

Swiftly Built a Successful Data Lake Platform to Automate Manual Processes and Organize New Data

While our client was successful in its strategic growth initiative, they wanted to improve their current framework to process, organize, and employ all the new data being generated.

When two decision-makers at Heritage Grocers Group’s special projects team heard about the benefits of Lucid, its capabilities, and how it works alongside Microsoft apps and Fabric, they were intrigued. As they learned more, our client was impressed by what Lucid Data Hub’s technology can offer.

  • Enabled the client to process hundreds of types of PoS transaction events.
  • Successfully able to process and analyze billions of sales transactions from a multitude of stores across several US states.

Collaboration between Adastra, Heritage Grocers Group, and the Microsoft team contributed to the success of this project. Overall, the generative Data Lakes, powered by the Lucid Data Hub, allowed for more efficient data ingestion. The Data Lakes also automated source data analyses; source data profiling; data modeling; data mapping; data load; analytics models; and analytics calculations.
