About the Client

ČEPS is the sole operator of the Czech Republic’s electricity transmission system, which forms the backbone of the national power grid.

Solution

ČEPS uses the new application portal and two key data applications designed and delivered by Adastra. Together, they unify the collection, validation, and secure storage of mandatory data from electricity producers.

Success Story

Technology:

Date:

December 16, 2025

Adastra has delivered a modern application portal that has simplified the collection and management of mandatory data from electricity producers and prepared us for a significant expansion in the number of external entities involved. As a result, we already have hundreds of parameters from dozens of power plants under control — and next year, we plan to onboard thousands more.

Challenge

ČEPS HUB: the central platform for the secure collection, management, and sharing of data

ČEPS operates the backbone electricity transmission system in the Czech Republic. The company is responsible for the reliable transmission of electricity nationwide and also manages electronic communication with energy-sector stakeholders. The ČEPS HUB platform extends this communication through digital interfaces for both internal and external users. ČEPS is working with Adastra to design and optimise a comprehensive application portal.

Objectives:

  • Deliver a modern portal framework for running frontend applications for both internal and external users
  • Provide a unified environment for collecting and managing data from power plant operators and other producers
  • Build an application layer integrated with central infrastructure and databases
  • Enable users — from internal specialists to external entities — to access forms, data, and reports easily and securely
  • Ensure that the applications support compliance with the new legal requirement to provide data on generation capacities

Solution

Portal Implementation – from configuration to two key applications

Adastra designed and delivered the core components of the solution:

  • An application portal, including the presentation layer that provides access to applications and data
  • A backend application environment, where data is stored, validated, and transformed into formats suitable for downstream use
  • Two standalone web applications
    1. ADSEND form application – used to collect data on the capacities and technical parameters of generation assets. It includes extensive questionnaires, automated data validation, import/export capabilities, and integration with a document database.
    2. DPM planning application – used to capture technical, structural, and dynamic energy data for assets connected to the transmission system, replacing the previous XLS-based records from Connection Agreements. The data is then used for forecasting and modelling within other ČEPS processes.

Impact

A portal for nearly one hundred power plants, with data validation and secure storage

The new application portal is now in production and is actively used by ČEPS to collect and manage data from generation operators.

  • The form application is currently available to almost one hundred power plants in the Czech Republic, which use the portal to complete extensive questionnaires on their generation capacities.
  • The system supports automatic data validation and storage, import and export of questionnaires, and uploading of supporting documents — significantly simplifying producers’ regulatory reporting obligations.
  • The backend layer ensures secure data storage and transformation into the required formats, including preparation of data for reporting to European institutions.
  • Planned enhancements will increase the number of participating entities by up to sixtyfold compared with the current state.
  • The application portal extends ČEPS’s central infrastructure with a modern user interface, giving both internal and external users a unified access point to all relevant functions.
