Adastra is strengthening its presence in Vienna as part of its strategy to expand further in Austria, Switzerland, and with the European headquarters of international companies. The Canadian-Czech IT consulting firm specializes in AI-driven data analytics and technology solutions that improve business efficiency. Adastra already works with clients in Vienna including Austrian Post International, Raiffeisen Bank International, UNIQA, and Vienna Insurance Group.

To support the next phase of growth, Adastra has appointed Mario Klima as Go-to-Market Lead for Austria. A Vienna native, Klima has held senior roles at Colt Technology Services, F5 Networks, and Dynatrace, among others, and brings a long-established network across the IT industry. He will focus on increasing Adastra’s brand visibility, winning new clients, and driving revenue growth.

While many Austrian companies have expanded into Central and Eastern Europe through regional subsidiaries, Adastra has followed the reverse path.

“We built strong relationships with the local operations of Austrian banks, insurers, and telecom providers through consistently good work,” said Marius Maslo, Managing Director at Adastra for Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, and Austria. “That did not go unnoticed at group level, and it opened the door for us to establish a stronger position in Vienna.”

One example is UNIQA, where Adastra helped replace multiple data warehouse systems across countries and business units with a single cloud-native data platform.

Making Data-Driven Decisions Easier

The new platform has reduced fragmentation across the data landscape, shortened reporting cycles, accelerated the development of predictive models, created a stable foundation for AI, and made it easier for UNIQA teams to make data-based decisions.

Alongside UNIQA, companies such as Raiffeisen Bank International, Vienna Insurance Group, and clients from the automotive sector rely on Adastra’s consulting expertise in data and information management. Because Adastra operates internationally and serves clients across industries, the company has built a team with deep expertise in a wide range of sectors. Adastra now plans to use that breadth of experience and its existing client base to support further growth in Austria and Switzerland.

Industry Expertise and Strong Market Relationships

“Vienna is ideally positioned to support our expansion further west,” said Marius Maslo. “To deliver on that strategy, we need a go-to-market leader with a very specific profile: deep industry knowledge, a strong network, and the ability to build new partnerships while strengthening existing ones. Mario Klima brings all of that. He is the right person for this role.”

Klima began his career in insurance sales and has spent more than 20 years in leadership roles across IT and telecommunications. In his new position, he has defined three priorities: “I want to raise Adastra’s profile in the market, establish the company in additional industries, and achieve substantial revenue growth.”

“Data Management Must Work Like an Orchestra.”

Klima explains the importance of effective IT consulting in data-driven business environments with a simple comparison: “An orchestra is only as good as its weakest instrument. The same applies to data and AI infrastructure. Effective data management has to work in harmony like a large orchestra.”

That is why Adastra’s experts assess not only the efficiency of individual components and tools within an IT architecture, but also how well they work together and fit with cloud platforms. Based on that analysis, the team defines clear improvement targets and practical recommendations for implementation.

“How closely we support modernization projects, or whether we execute them with Adastra specialists, depends on the level of expertise and available capacity on the client side,” said Klima.

Adastra already works closely with technology partners including Databricks, Microsoft, Google, AWS, and Bloomreach. As these partnerships continue to deepen, clients benefit from consulting that keeps pace with new technology developments.
