Quality and Performance Management System Project


The Fraser Health (FH) Quality and Safety strategic imperative mandated improvements to Quality and Performance, requiring effective reporting and measurement in order to better account for delivery of quality care and patient safety across the organization. A strategic quality and performance management system was required to correspond with accounting practices and enable patient-centered, quality-driven resource allocation, and balanced assessments of the relationship between quality and patient safety measures and other aspects of organizational performance.

Alongside partner Telus Health Solutions, Adastra worked to implement a Quality and Performance Management System (QPMS), including a QPMS scorecard covering 18 clinical programs. Built with MicroStrategy BI tools, the delivered scorecard provides insight into key performance indicators essential to Fraser Health meeting current and future reporting and monitoring.

Ongoing development will solidify the gains made to date, providing several important benefits, including:

  • Effective processes and structures for transforming data automatically for distribution to the system
  • Capacity to report on these performance indicators
  • Maintenance by the client through effective knowledge transfer and documentation
  • Annotation by users of scorecard results, including detailed commentary for use by colleagues at the organization
